1969~1980Jeong-dong was where MBC laid its foundation to become a national TV channel, and eventually grow into a global broadcasting company. It was in the district of Jeong-dong where MBC witnessed the October Yushin (Restoration) and opened a TV station as well as an FM station by merging with The Kyunghyang Shinmun. MBC was also able to prepare itself to provide color TV shows and move to Yeouido. In short, Jeong-dong was where the broadcasting company laid the foundation for growth.
